Online Registration

When: Monday, July 22nd 7AM through Sunday, July 28th 6PM
Where: The DCS Powerschool Parent Portal on any capable    internet-enabled device

In-Person Registration
When: Tuesday, July 23rd 7AM – 2PM and Wednesday, July 24th 2PM  – 7PM
Where: Discovery Lobby

How: Using school provided computers, staff will be available to assist you in filling out the registration forms. Please call the main office at (219) 983-9800 for password/account issues FIRST.

*This includes new, re-enrolling after an absence or continuing students

  • Annual Surveys - Military, Migrant and McKinney Vento

  • Health & Wellness Information including NEW student physical and immunization records as well as required 6th grade immunization records.

  • Transportation Waiver

  • Residency Affirmation

  • Handbook Acknowledgement & Photography Release

  • Kidstop Form - Kidstop Flyer

  • If applicable, download/complete/return an application for free or reduced lunch (links below)

The Free and Reduced Lunch Program

Discovery Charter School will continue to operate the free and reduced lunch program. The program is more than just lunches. This program also establishes eligibility for such benefits as the reduced/no fees for the school year.

Meal charge policy and procedure

Students may automatically qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch or may apply for the program. Note: Students who automatically qualify will be contacted via email or letter. To avoid disruption of benefits, if you have not received an email or letter of automatic qualification by 7/22/24, please fill out an application. Families who previously filled out an application and were approved for the 23-24 school year should fill out a 24-25 application as well to avoid a disruption in benefits.

Transportation and Non Curricular Fees per student: $150. Information on how to pay the school fees will be provided to families after the school year begins.


New Uniforms
Uniform ordering will open Monday July 22nd through our new uniform website:

Uniform ordering will remain the same as it has been the past two years. All orders placed until 7/30 will be available for pick up at Meet and Greet. All orders placed August 1-30, will be sent home with your student the second or third week of September and so on for each month. All orders must be placed online. 

Gently-used Uniforms
PAC will be selling left-over stock on hand and gently-used uniforms at Meet & Greet in August.

Discovery PAC
PAC will be at in person registration to answer any questions! PAC is Discovery’s Parent volunteer organization. You can read more about PAC here.

Volunteering
We would LOVE to have you volunteer!! Sign up for volunteering opportunities such as Room Liaison, Grade Chair, Copy Volunteer, Fall Festival, Staff Snack Days, Uniform Coordinator, and SCRIP volunteers (selling in the lobby).  We will also be available for questions and sign up, at the on-site registration days AND Meet and Greet in August.
